Tata Tiago EV tops Nexon EV and defeats MG Comet 5 to 1

Tata Tiago EV has made a great accomplishment in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market by surpassing its rivals and taking the top spot in passenger electric car sales. The Tata Tiago EV outsold the Nexon EV, which posted 5,072 units, by a wide margin during the second quarter of CY 2023, with excellent sales of 10,695 units. The Tiago EV further cemented its supremacy in the EV market by outperforming the MG Comet, an electric vehicle from MG Motors, by a startling 5-to-1 ratio.

The Tata Tiago EV, which was introduced in September 2022 and whose deliveries started earlier this year, is presently among the most reasonably priced four-door electric hatchbacks in the nation. This affordable EV has reached a spectacular sales milestone of 15,000 units, revolutionizing the smaller villages and cities of India’s electric transportation scene.

The Tata Tiago EV took the top spot in the second quarter of 2023’s fiercely competitive EV market with an astounding sales total of 10,695 units. Its brother, the Tata Nexon EV, came in second place with 5,072 sold units. The Tata Tigor EV took third place with 3,257 units, demonstrating Tata Motors’ supremacy in the electric vehicle market.

What is the reason behind Tata Tiago EV’s success?

The Tata Tiago EV is a game-changer because it offers consumers an economical and environmentally beneficial alternative to conventional hatchbacks powered by internal combustion engines. The Tata Tiago EV is still the most reasonably priced electric hatchback on the market, with beginning pricing as low as Rs 8.69 lakh and rising as high as Rs 11..99 lakh for the top-end model. Despite the recent price increase, it still has a competitive advantage and draws consumers looking for a sustainable mobility option.

The Tiago EV stands out from its rivals thanks to a host of cutting-edge technologies in addition to its low price. A pleasant and convenient driving experience is guaranteed with the vehicle’s leatherette seats, automatic temperature control, rain-sensing wipers, auto-headlamps, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and cruise control.

Tata Motors’ state-of-the-art Ziptron technology, which also powers the Tata Nexon EV, powers the Tata Tiago EV. To accommodate different driving requirements, the car provides a variety of battery alternatives. The bigger 24 kWh battery pack has a 315 km MIDC-certified range, which equates to around 260 km of the actual range.

The smaller 19.2 kWh battery pack, on the other hand, offers a real-world range of about 200 km and a MIDC-certified range of 250 km. Customers have the freedom to select the battery type that best meets their needs for everyday commuting thanks to these possibilities.

Tata Motors has made sure that Tiago EV customers may easily and conveniently charge their vehicles. A standard 15A house outlet, a 3.3 kW AC charger, a 7.2 kW AC home charger, and a DC fast charger are just a few of the charging choices available for EVs. While the DC fast charger completes a 10% to 80% charge in an astonishing 57 minutes, the 7.2 kW AC home charger can recharge the battery back to 100% in only 3 hours and 36 minutes.

The Z-Connect telematics system that comes with the Tata Tiago EV offers a variety of over 65 functions that improve connectivity and convenience for the owners. The Tiago EV makes sure that drivers are constantly in charge of their electric vehicle, from real-time charging status and wristwatch connection to remote geo-fencing and AC on/off.
