MG Comet EV spotted on Indian Roads ahead of its launch

Multiple test mules of MG Comet EV were spotted on Delhi NCR roads just ahead of the launch of its India launch. The convoy of Comet EV test mules can be seen in our team’s photos and videos, which are camouflaged. The MG Comet EV will be the brand’s second BEV offering in India. However, unlike the current ZS EV, the Comet EV will be much more affordable to purchase and will be limited to city use only.

The MG Comet EV has only two passenger doors and is only 2.9 metres long.

To enter the cabin, the rear passengers would have to move the front seats. The wheelbase is over 2 metres, so there should be enough space inside. The Comet EV’s body is relatively tall and stubby, with a wraparound LED DRL on the front and a pair of LED headlamps. The 10.25-inch twin screens that handle instrumentation and infotainment are the Comet’s highlight inside the cabin.

The Comet EV is expected to be available with two battery pack options ranging from 20 to 25 kWh. These battery packs are expected to have ranges ranging from 200 to 350 kilometres. Power will be supplied by a single front-axle motor producing 68 horsepower.

The MG Comet EV is expected to be released in April 2023. While no official price has been announced by MG, it is expected to be priced between Rs 6 lakhs and Rs 12 lakhs given that it will compete with the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen EC3.
