Auto Expo 2023: Tata Motors teases its new Altroz, Harrier and Safari SUVs ahead of their release

Tata Motors is preparing to unveil a slew of new vehicles at the 2023 Auto Expo. The company is expected to present numerous concepts, new models, and facelifts for existing models. From the 13th to the 18th of January 2023, the 2023 Auto Expo will be held at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. Tata Motors has released a teaser video for its upcoming electric vehicle range, which will be showcased at the Auto Expo. The video was posted on Tata Motors’ electric mobility Instagram page, and it depicts the Tata Altroz, Harrier, and Safari SUV silhouettes.

Tata previously displayed the Altroz EV at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The Tata Altroz EV is built on the same ALFA platform that can be electrified.

The Tata Altroz EV is expected to share many features with the Nexon EV, including the same electric powertrain, PDU (Power distribution unit), and battery pack. The Altroz EV will be powered by a three-phase PMSM motor with 120 bhp and 230 Nm of torque. Concerning the battery pack, Tata is expected to offer the Altroz EV with two battery pack options: medium range and long range.

The car is expected to include connected car technology, which will allow you to access the car’s stats such as battery life and charging history, as well as locate the nearest charging stations for you. In India, the Tata Altroz EV is expected to cost between Rs 12- 15 lakhs. The teased video also includes images of the Tata Harrier and Safari SUVs. The exterior and interior of the Tata Harrier and Safari will be modified. The SUVs will have electric-themed exterior styling as well as an electric-specific teal blue colour with a tri-arrow design similar to other Tata EVs. Tata may also improve the aerodynamics of the SUVs to increase range.

The Harrier and Safari will have the same dashboard design as their ICE counterparts. It will have a dark-toned interior with electric blue accents around the instrument panel, AC vents, and on-the-seat fabric with a tri-arrow pattern for the seats. There are no details available about the electric powertrain and battery pack that will be available with the Harrier and Safari EVs. The electric SUVs will have powerful electric motors and a larger battery pack with a capacity of up to 60 kWh. We anticipate that the electric powertrain will produce around 180 bhp of power and 350-400 Nm of torque, with a certified range of 400-450 km on a single full charge.
