Mahindra XUV700 EV Revealed as XEV 7e: What We Know About the Mahindra XEV 7e
The XEV 7e is set to be a non-coupe variant of the recently unveiled XEV 9e, sharing many features and specifications. However, it distinguishes itself with third-row seating, making it a more family-friendly option compared to the XEV 9e. Mahindra has officially trademarked the name XEV 7e in India, and leaked images suggest that the vehicle is production-ready, having been tested alongside its siblings.
Design and Features
The design of the XEV 7e borrows heavily from the XUV700, particularly in its side profile and rear section. However, it adopts the front fascia and dashboard layout from the XEV 9e, creating a modern and cohesive look. Notably, the XEV 7e will be the only model in the Mahindra Electric Origin lineup to feature a panoramic sunroof, enhancing its appeal.
Inside, the XEV 7e boasts a luxurious cabin with captain chairs in the second row, a triple-screen layout, and a new steering wheel adorned with an illuminated logo. The vehicle is equipped with a 1400W Harman Kardon audio system, VisionX HUD, powered tailgate, ambient lighting, and a comprehensive Level-2+ ADAS suite for advanced safety features.
Performance and Powertrain
The XEV 7e is expected to feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, a significant upgrade over the XEV 9e and BE 6e, which do not offer this configuration. This dual-motor layout is anticipated to deliver a combined output of over 350 bhp and 450 Nm of torque, with impressive acceleration figures that could see it reach 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds. Additionally, the vehicle will include various traction modes, including a ‘Snow’ mode for enhanced off-road capability.
Market Position and Future Launch
While Mahindra initially planned to launch the XEV 7e alongside the XEV 9e and BE 6e, it appears that the company may be strategically delaying the release to maintain excitement around its current offerings. Given the positive reception of the BE 6e and XEV 9e, the XEV 7e is poised to capture significant attention when it finally hits the market.
