Kia is developing a new small EV under the EV3

Kia still has space in its lineup for a second small EV. Our sources claim that the Korean automaker is developing a new small electric vehicle that will sit beneath the recently released EV3. The vehicle, whose prototypes have been spotted throughout Europe, is most likely going to be called the EV2.

With a length of 4.3 meters, the EV3 is at the top of the B-SUV market and almost at the threshold of the mid-size premium market. Thus, Kia has space to expand its lineup of electric cars with a smaller model. Herein lies the role of the new EV2.Since the new Hyundai Inster has arrived, we may presume that Kia will eventually follow suit and introduce a small electric crossover. But it’s crucial to remember that the Inster is an A-SUV.

KIA New Model under EV3

The new EV2 will market itself as a more useful and adaptable choice. Following the loss of the e-Soul, the latter is required inside the Kia lineup. Since the car is entirely electric, everyone will be watching the propulsion system. Various engine options will be offered for the EV2. Two battery sizes will be available for selection.

The maximum range would, in the best scenario, surpass 400 km. Charging times will be another crucial factor. The Company has established a clear goal for the new EV2, which is to use a fast charger to charge the vehicle from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes. The official unveiling of the new EV2 is scheduled for the second half of 2025. Thus, it will be a 2026 model when it gets to the dealerships. It will be produced in Europe, more precisely in Slovakia at Kia’s plant.
