It is expected that Hyundai’s electric Creta, which is frequently tested on Indian roads, would make its premiere at the Auto Expo 2025 in New Delhi. In order to further heat up the e-SUV industry, this midsize electric SUV will enter a competitive market and compete against rivals like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400, and the soon-to-be-released Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and its Toyota counterpart.
Hyundai India’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Tarun Garg, stated during an investor meeting that the electric Creta will be introduced to the domestic market in the first month of the upcoming year.
Hyundai Creta EV: Features and Specifications
Furthermore, Unsoo Kim, the CEO and Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India, has stated that the Creta EV is anticipated to revolutionize the market. A closed-off front grille, new 18-inch aero-insert wheels, and redesigned front and back bumpers are just a few of the visual changes visible in spy photos of the Hyundai Creta EV.
Subtle changes give the EV version a sleeker appearance, even though the LED headlamps and tail lamps still have the distinctive aspect of the normal Creta. It is anticipated that the Hyundai Creta’s electric cabin will be quite comparable to that of its internal combustion engine, with a similar layout and well-known technology and features. The present Creta’s K2 architecture will be altered to incorporate the battery and other EV components, potentially resulting in somewhat bigger overall dimensions.
The Hyundai Creta EV’s interior will include a drive mode selection positioned on the steering column, a distinctively designed steering wheel, and a twin-screen arrangement consisting of a 10.25-inch touchscreen display and a 10.25-inch digital console. Its features include a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, six standard airbags, and wireless smartphone charging.
The electric five-seater is anticipated to have a driving range of more than 450 kilometers on a full charge and to provide both single and dual motor choices. Although DC fast charging will be supported, it is unclear if advanced functionality like V2L and V2V charging would be included. The entry-level Kona Electric, which is no longer available for purchase in India, may be the source of the electric motor. The initial price of the Creta EV may be approximately Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
