Why should you buy the new 2024 Tata Nexon EV?

With a starting price of Rs 13.99 lakh, Tata Motors has announced a larger 45kWh battery pack for the Nexon EV. Three trim levels are offered for the new model, with the highest-spec Empowered+ trim costing up to Rs 16.99 lakh. In addition to the bigger battery, the Nexon EV also comes in a new Red Dark variant, which costs Rs 17.19 lakh. The 45kWh battery pack is available starting with the Creative trim, which is Rs 60,000 less expensive than the 40.5kWh model that is available starting with the Fearless trim, which is the second from the base.

New features of the Tata Nexon EV

The ARAI claims a range of 489 km with the larger 45kWh battery pack, which is 24 miles beyond the 40.5kWh battery’s certified capacity. According to Tata, the real-world C75 cycle range is between 350 and 370 km. The larger battery produces the same amount of power and torque—145 horsepower and 215 Nm.

According to Tata Motors, the new battery pack requires the same amount of space as the 40.5kWh unit because it is 15% more energy dense. Specifically from 10 to 80 percent, the 45 kWh battery takes 48 minutes to charge, compared to 56 minutes for the 40.5 kWh one. The business is sure that the 5-star BNCAP crash test accreditation that was valid for the 40.5kWh variant will also be extended to the 45kWh version, despite the modest weight increase.

In addition to a larger battery, the higher-end Nexon EV trims come equipped with a panoramic sunroof and a “Frunk” for extra storage. The Mahindra XUV 3XO is the only other small SUV with a panoramic sunroof, after the Nexon EV. Along with the new 45kWh variations, the 30kWh and 40.5kWh models will still be available for purchase.

Release of the Nexon EV Red Dark Edition

There is only one Empowered+ 45 trim available for the Nexon EV Red Dark edition, and it costs Rs 17.19 lakh, which is Rs 20,000 more than the trim on which it is based. The Nexon EV Red Dark has 16-inch gloss-black wheels and gloss-black paint with subtle red accents. More notable changes to the inside include red seat upholstery, an all-black dashboard with red contrast stitching, and a unique Red Dark-themed infotainment system UI. ‘#Dark’ is also stitched on the headrests of the seats.
