A fresh teaser for a new product, aka the BYD Atto 3 new version that BYD India is introducing on July 10, has been posted on social media. Our sources indicate that the Chinese EV maker will launch a new entry-level e-SUV model with a smaller battery pack.
What’s new with the new BYD Atto 3 variant?
Our sources indicate that a smaller 50kWh battery pack will be included with the new Atto 3 model. The Atto 3 now comes with a single 60.48kWh battery that has a 521 km range on a single charge, according to ARAI certification. It is anticipated that the smaller 50kWh unit will have a little shorter range than the larger unit.
In order to price the BYD Atto 3 competitively against the top-end MG ZS EV models, BYD will benefit from the release of the entry-level variation. The MG e-SUV has a range of 461km and is priced between Rs 18.98 lakh and Rs 25.20 lakh. It comes with a 50.3kWh battery pack. By contrast, BYD retails the Atto 3 for Rs 33.99 lakh at the moment, while the new variation is anticipated to cost between Rs 26 and Rs 28 lakh.
In addition, BYD may decide to exclude some features to save money. The aspects of the SUV that would be dropped are still unknown. The front-mounted electric motor of the BYD Atto 3 generates 204 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque; it will be fascinating to see if this output is retained or somewhat reduced in the new entry-level model.
