Huawei To Use Next-Gen EVs To Beat Rolls-Royce

The market for electric vehicles (EVs) is rising quickly and is anticipated to do so in the near future. It may surprise you to learn that smartphone companies are following suit and are becoming interested in this trend in addition to traditional automakers. While Apple and Sony made suggestions about this move years ago, Xiaomi made its debut in the auto business in 2023 with the release of the SU7.

Huawei is now increasing its efforts in an attempt to create a significant impact with its new luxury brand. Huawei, in collaboration with the Chinese manufacturer JAC, is preparing to take on global brands such as Rolls Royce and Maybach.

Chairman Yu Chengdong stated that they are prepared to enter the ultra-luxury sector, which would especially thrill the upper class and compete with well-known companies, in an interview with the Chinese journal QQ. Chengdong said, “The name of Huawei-JAC has not been decided yet,” as cited by HT Auto. This may be a very high-end, million-dollar automobile. Our standard is significantly higher than that of the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Maybach. It is more comfy, opulent, and high-end than they are.

New Huawei EV

In 2025, Huawei intends to introduce its high-end electric car, which will cost roughly $140,000 (almost one crore). They assert that compared to vehicles such as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, Rolls Royce Phantom, and even BMW i7, the EV is more opulent, premium, roomy, and comfortable.

Yicai Global reports that Huawei, a joint venture with JAC, plans to create a multifunctional vehicle based on the jointly created X6 platform. They intend to build 35,000 cars per year, with dimensions of 5.2 meters for length and 3.2 meters for the wheelbase.

In the meantime, the new brand will be a part of the “fourth realm,” or Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) project. It will join Huawei’s existing alliances, which include AITO (with Seres), Luxeed (with Chery), and Stelato (with BAIC). These collaborations aim to draw in younger clients by utilizing cutting-edge technological features and effective marketing techniques.

As per the sources, Huawei has reportedly reached out to VW and Mercedes-Benz to investigate the prospect of purchasing minor shares in its company that develops software and components for smart cars. This action is a component of Huawei’s strategy to expand its ties in the automotive sector outside of China.
