Kia EV3 compact electric SUV makes its debut worldwide with 600-kilometer-range

The EV3, Kia Motors’ newest electric car, has been unveiled. Although it is the smallest vehicle produced to date on Hyundai and Kia’s exclusive e-GMP electric vehicle platform, it incorporates numerous technologies and styling influences from the flagship EV9. Kia claims that the EV3 is both practical and useable in addition to being lively, entertaining, and playful.

Kia EV3: Dimensions & Design

The EV3 is built on Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy, just like the flagship EV9. It has an angular front fascia with a closed-off Tiger Nose grille up front, flanked by L-shaped LED DRLs and Kia’s recognisable “star map” LED lighting pattern. Furthermore, the front bumper is a single component that is integrated into the entire fascia.

In October of last year, a concept prototype of the same broke covers for the first time. It is built on the E-GMP platform developed by Hyundai Group, which also supports the EV9, EV6, and EV5. There will be two variants of the EV3 available: Standard and GT Line.Thick black cladding accentuates the wide wheel arches on the side profile. The SUV has a distinctive appearance thanks to the unusual geometric aerodynamic alloy wheels that fill these wheel arches. The C-pillars have flush-fitting rear door handles.

It has a crossover appeal because to the smooth, long, sloping roofline that flows into a hatchback-style tailboard. The GT trim comes in Onyx Black, while the interiors are offered in Warm Grey, Blue, and Subtle Grey finishes. A 12-inch head-up display, a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel (three-spoke unit in GT grade), an ADAS suite, customisable ambient lighting, a personal AI voice assistant, and upholstery made of sustainable materials are among the other innovations available.

The Kia EV3 will compete with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the BYD Atto 3, the MG ZS EV, and the Volvo XC40 Recharge, among other electric SUVs and crossovers. Although Kia hasn’t announced that the EV3 will be available in India, given that India is one of the South Korean automaker’s global production centres, we may anticipate seeing the EV3 constructed at the company’s Anantapur factory in Andhra Pradesh at some point in the future.
