Jeep Compass features and design
Next-generation Jeep Compass will be built on the cutting-edge STLA Medium Platform. The most recent iterations of the Opel Grandland and Peugeot 3008 are already using this new base. A variety of C- and D-segment Stellantis models will be implemented using STLA Medium. The platform is built to accommodate ICE, hybrid, and electric powertrains, as well as a variety of body types. The new Jeep Compass will get a bigger size and be supported by the STLA Medium Platform.
Although its dimensions are not yet known, the next Jeep Compass is most likely going to be marketed as a mid-size SUV. The length of a vehicle can be accommodated by the new platform between 4.3 and 4.9 metres. The length of the current Compass model is 4.4 metres. The wheelbase of the new platform can range from 2.7 to 2.9 metres. Essentially, automobiles in the C and D segments are supported.
There is a 400-volt electrical architecture supported by STLA Medium Platform. It is capable of having electric motors with 220–390 horsepower. It can handle battery packs up to 98 kWh in size. The range is 500 km when using the normal battery pack. With the performance pack, you may get a greater range of 700 kilometres.
The WLTP criteria form the foundation for the range figures. These specifications give you a sense of what the next new Jeep Compass is capable of. Best-in-class energy efficiency is another advantage that Stellantis claims its STLA Medium platform offers. The rating for energy usage is 14 kWh per 100 km. Additionally advantageous to users is fast charging, which can reach 80% to 20% in just 27 minutes.
The new Jeep Compass will initially be available in areas in North America and Europe. Stellantis hopes to achieve carbon neutrality by 2038, and in some areas, the Jeep Compass may soon be available only as an electric vehicle. However, as long as it’s practical, Jeep Compass with ICE powertrain options will still be offered in places like India.
