Ola Electric is prepared to increase its footprint in new categories of electric vehicles after dominating the Indian electric scooter market. In that sense, Ola Electric has pledged to provide us with automobiles, motorbikes, rickshaws, and 3W cargo vehicles. Design patents suggest that although Ola cars may be more advanced in the future, Ola motorcycles and 3W vehicles appear to be making their appearance first.
Roadster and Ola electric ADV Motorcycles
Recall that during the Ola motorcycle announcement ceremony, we only had the working Roadster concept, and we thought it might be the first to go on sale. That appears to be the case since Ola Electric has patented three distinct versions of M1 Cyber Racer, the production name for the Ola Roadster. To create a visual differentiation, all three variations have different designs.
The M1 Cyber Racer appears to be evolving into three different versions. The basic model has somewhat boring wheels, most likely cast alloys with a monochromatic finish. This version has dual shock absorbers, a very simple box-section swingarm, and a hub motor at the back. Next is the highest grade, which includes a fancy swingarm, intricate fairing, front and rear disc brakes, a mid-mounted powerplant, finer dual-tone alloy wheels, and a mono-shock rear suspension.
There are two versions of this top trim available, with minor design changes: a single-seat version and a twin-seat version. For whatever reason, the single-seat version also has rear footpegs. A flat-tracker-style headlight assembly and RSU telescopic front forks are standard on all three M1 Cyber Racer versions. You must go up to Ola M1 Adventure, which is patented if you want high-end components.
Patented M1 Adventure electric ADV
Ola is entering the electric off-road motorbike market with the M1 Adventure. It comes with high-end parts, including USD telescopic front forks, wire-spoke wheels, knuckle guards, front and rear double disc brakes, an elaborate swingarm, and more. Its dual vertically stacked headlamps and sizable windscreen serve as a design cue for the future KTM 390 Adventure.
In addition to these bikes, Ola Electric displayed the M1 Cruiser, which had the finest overall appearance of the four. In addition, Diamond Head was a futuristic idea that peered far into the future. To operate the 5-inch instrument cluster that Ola Electric displayed with all of its motorcycles, there was another patent for right-side switchgear that is probably going to be installed in all of these bikes.
Stepping into the 3W domain
Additionally, Ola Electric owns two 3W electric car patents. These two automobiles are basically distinct models of the same parent car. Ola is breaking into the electric 3W CV market for the first time, and it’s probably going to use aggressive pricing tactics to attract a lot of attention and drive sales right away.
The variant with the electric rickshaw appears to have a weatherproofed body, a fixed hard top, and a shorter wheelbase. The flat bed of the electric cargo model has a lower height. Customers can work with outside fabricators to alter this load bed to accommodate a taller body. By the end of 2024, Ola ADV and Roadster motorcycles are expected to become widely available. I’m curious to know when 3W automobiles will be released.Â
