New models for the MG Comet EV and ZS EV are here

The Comet and ZS EV, MG Motor India’s two electric vehicles, have a revised lineup. The Comet now has the much-needed option of rapid charging, although with a 7.4 kW AC charger, in addition to a variation shuffle. New versions of electric vehicles (EVs) have been added by MG Motor India to its lineup. A new version of the MG ZS, the “ZS EV Excite Pro,” was unveiled by the business and priced at Rs 19.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The Comet EV with rapid charging capabilities has also been introduced by the brand in two new models, Excite and Exclusive, with prices starting at Rs 6.98 lakh (ex-showroom).

Updates on ZS EV and MG Comet

The Comet’s top-spec model now comes with additional safety features like electronic parking brakes, disc brakes on the back, electronic stability control (ESC), and hill-hold assist in addition to the new quick charging capability. Power-foldable ORVMs, DRLs built into the front indicators, and ORVMs that match the colour of the body are some of the other new features. Due to this, the top-spec model now costs ₹20,000 more.

The charging time has been cut in half once the 7.4 kW AC charging capability was added. Now, a 3.3 kW charger takes 7 hours to fully charge the Comet, whereas the Comet with the fast charger takes 3.5 hours to charge from 0% to 100%. It still comes with a 17.3 kWh battery with a 230 km stated range.

The price and feature list of the electric SUV remains the same, with the ZS EV receiving only new variation names. The base-spec Executive variant’s name hasn’t altered, though. The Exclusive Pro is now called Essence, the Exclusive Plus is the new name for the Exclusive version, and the Excite variant is now called Excite Pro. The Excite Pro model now has a dual-pane panoramic sunroof in addition to a new moniker, making it the only EV under ₹20 lakh to have this feature. It still includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, six airbags, a reverse camera, and other features that MG has not yet disclosed.
