Tata Nexon, Nexon EV Dark Versions Unveiled

The Nexon Dark and Nexon EV Dark are new models from Tata Motors, with starting costs of Rs 11.45 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh, respectively. This validates our earlier story from the previous month indicating that the Nexon makeover Dark Edition was about to emerge.

What makes the Tata Nexon Dark different?

It appears that the Nexon Dark will cost roughly Rs 35,000 more than the model it is based on and will be offered in both the top-spec Fearless variant and the mid-spec Creative trims. According to Tata, the top-spec Nexon Dark trims come with wireless charging, a “hidden” capacitive touch panel for automatic temperature control, black leatherette seats, and more. The feature list will be the same as the version on which the Dark edition is based.

The 1.5-liter diesel with the 6-speed manual and AMT choices, as well as the 1.2-liter turbo-petrol with the 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, or 7-speed dual-clutch auto, are the available powertrain combinations for the Nexon Dark.

What makes the Tata Nexon EV Dark unique?

The Nexon.ev Dark is priced at approximately Rs 10,000 more than the Nexon Dark, and it appears to be based on the top-spec Empowered + LR trim rather than the Nexon.ev MR. A 40.5kWh, 215Nm, 145hp battery pack with an ARAI-tested range of 465km powers the Nexon.ev LR.

What’s new with Tata Harrier and Safari Dark?

Since the Dark Editions’ release in October of last year, Tata has sold their flagship SUVs with them, but what’s intriguing is that the prices have remained the same for the past four months. While the Safari Dark starts at Rs 20.69 lakh, the Harrier Dark is still priced at Rs 19.99 lakh.

The top-spec Fearless version and the mid-spec Pure and Adventure variants of the Harrier Dark are both available. Conversely, the Safari comes with the top-of-the-line Accomplished, Adventure, and mid-tier Pure versions. The 2.0-liter diesel engine, 6-speed manual, and torque converter automatic gearbox options are the same for both SUVs.
