New Renault Kwid EV, the Dacia Spring EV to launch on 21 February

On February 21, Dacia is scheduled to present the revised Spring EV to the public. This suggests that Renault may eventually release an electric Kwif in India. Comparable to the Dacia Duster to the Renault Duster, the Spring EV is the Dacia counterpart of the Renault Kwid. Both the Renault Kwid EV and the Dacia Spring have been available for purchase for some time now in the international market; however, the Kwid EV was only shown as a concept at the 2020 Auto Expo and was never brought to India.

Features of the Dacia Spring EV

With a revised grille, headlights, and some details towards the back, the 2017 Dacia Spring EV’s appearance is heavily influenced by the Duster. The Kwid’s distinctive high ground clearance and small SUV stance will remain a feature of the Spring.

Regarding the electric drivetrain, the Renault Kwid is marketed worldwide with a 26.8kWh battery pack that produces 43 horsepower and 125 Nm of torque, along with a stated 230 km of range. With a 30kW DC fast charger, the battery pack can be charged from 0% to 80% in less than an hour.

Following the launch of the new Dacia Spring EV, the Renault-Nissan alliance revealed new models for India last year, including two reasonably priced electric cars. The electric Kwid is probably going to be one of the more reasonably priced EVs to arrive in India.
