EV sales increase by 49% in 2023 to 15.29 lakh units: FADA

The Federation of Automobile Dealers’ Association (FADA) released figures on Tuesday showing that sales of EVs in India increased by 49.25 percent year over year to 15,29,947 units in 2023.

What does the FADA data on EV sales say?

According to the data, the electric vehicle industry reported a total sales of 10,25,063 units in 2022. According to the report, two-wheeler sales increased by 36.09 percent to 8,59,376 units in the just-ended year from 6,31,464 units in 2022.

Sales of e-three-wheelers increased 65.23 percent in 2022 compared to 2022 when 3,52,710 units were sold. From 2,649 vehicles sold in the previous year to 5,673 units in 2023, e-commercial vehicle sales increased by 114.16 percent annually. According to FADA data, sales of electric passenger vehicles increased by 114.71 percent to 82,105 units in 2022 from 38,240 vehicles in 2022.
