Pepper Motion to invest ₹4,640 crore at Punganur’s EV manufacturing facility

On 29 November (Wednesday), Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy received a visit from Andreas Hager, CEO of the German-based Pepper Motion Company, at the latter’s camp office in Tadepalli, close to this place.

The 800-acre Punganur facility in the Chittoor district will see the foundation stone laid by Pepper Motion, a manufacturer of electric buses and vehicles. ₹4,640 crore will be invested in this project. The Chief Minister outlined Mr. Andreas Hager’s transparent industrial policy, which aims to produce green energy in the State and grant single-window clearances to enterprises.

He was informed by Mr. Andreas Hager that their company would produce 30,000 electric buses and trucks annually in addition to having a facility for turning diesel buses and trucks into electric ones. He stated that the company’s international standards integrated vertical production facility will feature a battery manufacturing unit with a capacity of 20 GWH.

What did the Pepper Motion CEO say?

Mr. Andrew Hager expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for expeditiously clearing the proposed Punganur facility. He also stated that the State’s upcoming global centre of excellence will provide services to its partners in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. He also mentioned that 8,100 engineers and technicians would be employed by the unit.

Pepper Motion has locations in the United States, Europe, Mexico, and China, and it has partnerships with the top global corporations.

There were several people in attendance, including Wurth Electronics India MD Harsh Aadya, Pepper Motion CTO Matthias Kerler, finance director Uve Stelter, associate Sridhar Kilaru, CSO Satya Bulusu, CCO Ravi Sankar, and senior CMO officials. The MP for Rajampeta, P. Mithun Reddy, was also there.
