The 2024 BMW X2 debuts with a fresh look and fully electric iX2 model

In all markets, BMW has launched the all-new X2 and its electric companion, the iX2. The new X2 has greater dimensions and a sportier appearance thanks to design cues like the coupe roofline and a sizable rear diffuser. Globally, BMW will offer the car with three different powertrain options, including two petrol-powered models and one diesel-powered model. The BMW Group facility in Regensburg will produce the SUV.

BMW X2’s specifications

The X2 is now dimensionally larger than its predecessor, being 194 mm longer, 21 mm wider, and 64 mm higher. However, the vehicle’s design may divide opinion. A wider version of BMW’s kidney grille, flared wheel arches, optional 21-inch wheels, and a sizable rear diffuser all improve the vehicle’s appearance. In addition, the car now has new headlamps that resemble those on the brand-new 5 series.

With a coupe roofline, the SUV also has a drastically different silhouette. It features newly created taillamps at the back that differ in appearance from those on other BMW models. The interior of the new BMW X2 features a completely new dashboard with a BMW Curved Display on top. This combines a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch driver-focused infotainment display into one unit. Along with bigger air conditioning vents on the passenger side, the car also receives a brand-new gear selector.

Other vehicle features include wireless charging, Park Assist, BMW Head-Up Display, two-zone automatic temperature control, and electrically adjustable seats with massage functions. The vehicle contains additional safety features like steering and lane control assistance, cruise control with brake function, and more.

Globally, the all-new BMW X2 is offered with three different powertrain options: a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (154 horsepower, 280 Nm), a 2.0-liter diesel engine (149 horsepower, 360 Nm), and a 2.0-liter gasoline engine (297 horsepower, 400 Nm). A seven-speed Steptronic transmission with a double clutch is standard equipment for all powertrains.

The second-generation BMW X2 will face competition from vehicles like the Audi Q4 and the Jaguar E-Pace.
