VinFast will unveil its first electric SUV in India in April 2024

VinFast Auto, a Vietnamese EV manufacturer, would introduce two to three e-SUV models from its current line into India’s developing electric vehicle market. The VF e-34 crossover, an electric SUV that the Tesla-rivaling EV company will reportedly unveil, will probably be imported as a CBU.

The inaugural model, the VF e-34, a small SUV crossover, would be imported, according to a number of people acquainted with the company’s objectives. Future electric SUVs like the VFe-34, VF6, and VF7 will first be built locally before some of them are made domestically.

According to a person familiar with the company’s plans, “the company is currently re-working its portfolio to produce right-hand drive models for India.”

The EV company, which made its international debut in 2021 with electric vehicles that competed with Tesla, has chosen India as its primary right-hand-drive market and anticipates that in the following three to five years, Asia will account for four out of every ten vehicles sold globally.

For its upcoming Gurugram outpost, VinFast has already started hiring. It announced on LinkedIn last month that it was looking for dealer managers, managers of sales training, and specialists in service quality control.

In terms of market value, VinFast Auto, which was established in 2017, has recently surpassed Toyota and Nissan. Just 7,400 vehicles were sold by VinFast in Vietnam last year, but the company anticipates selling between 40,000 and 50,000 this year as it expands outside of the nation.
