Tata Nexon vs Nexon EV 2023: The Ultimate Guide

In advance of their price announcement on September 14, Tata Motors recently showcased the Nexon makeover for both the ICE and EV models. The facelifted Tata Nexon and Nexon.ev is now a little more distinct from the pre-facelift variants in terms of aesthetics and features, in contrast to the pre-facelift models, which were basically comparable aside from the evident difference under the skin. Let’s look more closely.

Exterior design: Tata Nexon vs. Nexon.ev.

The face is where the two SUVs’ cosmetic differences are most noticeable. With a full-width LED Daytime Running Lamp signature and a single-tone body-coloured finish on the upper portion of the nose, the Nexon.ev stands apart from the competition. The linked treatment for the LED DRLs, which are featured on the EV, is absent from the upper area of the nose on the petrol and diesel versions of the Tata Nexon, which instead has a contrasting black finish.

Additionally, the bumpers on the EV and ICE models change a little. The grille on the Nexon.ev is slatted as opposed to the mesh-like design on the Tata Nexon, and more crucially, the former has fewer apertures because it does not require as much cooling, which also improves aerodynamic efficiency. Additionally, the Nexon.ev has a thin band of chrome at the bottom as opposed to the ICE Nexon’s false silver skid plate.

However, there are no profile modifications, and both models even have the same alloy wheels. The only difference is that on both models, the faux skid plate on the bumper has a slightly different finish. Finally, the Nexon.ev is the only device that offers the color options Empowered Oxide and Intensi Teal.

Features of Nexon.ev vs. Tata Nexon

Even the drive selector on the center console is the same on both, unlike the pre-facelift cars, so there aren’t any significant interior design changes, but there are variations in the equipment. The larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the top-spec Empowered trim is the most significant of the Nexon.ev’s unique characteristics. On the ICE Nexon, however, a 10.25-inch screen is the maximum available. Tata’s brand-new Arcade.ev app suite is also included with the EV for OTT platform streaming.

An additional difference between the EV and the ICE Nexon is that the EV has an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold capability. The EV has disc brakes on all four wheels, whereas the ICE models only have them on the front. A puncture repair kit, OTA updates, connected car features, and welcome and farewell animations on the front LED DRLs are all included with the Nexon.ev.

The Nexon.ev also has V2V (vehicle to vehicle) and V2L (vehicle to load) charging as well as multi-level regen modes due to the fundamentally different drivetrain.

Variants and warranties between Tata Nexon and Nexon.ev

The ICE Nexon is offered in four standard trim levels: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Fearless. Each of these levels also has extra packages, which are identified by a “+” suffix. The Nexon.ev, meantime, is available in three standard trims: Creative, Fearless, and Empowered. Each of these trims is once more supported by a corresponding extra package.

Regarding warranties, Tata Motors provides 3 years or 100,000 km of coverage for the ICE Nexon, but the Nexon.ev receives a longer guarantee of 1,25,000 km, even if the time frame is the same.
