Tata Punch EV: Additional features and a revamped interior were shown in testing

Another time, with some design changes, the Tata Punch EV has been observed testing. The electric micro SUV’s appearance and interior may both be seen, providing further information about it. The Tata Punch EV has been observed testing once more; intriguingly, it now has new interior components and alloy wheels. A 360-degree camera will be added to the Tata Punch EV. The MG Comet Punch EV will have disc brakes on all four wheels to compete with the Citroen eC3.

Tata Punch EV: Battery and Design

The Tata Punch EV now has a reprofiled LED DRL up front, which is probably Curvv’s full-width model. It appears that the headlight units below it have also migrated somewhat upward. It also has a casing for the 360-degree camera system and mirrors from the 2023 Harrier. The alloy wheels on the Punch EV will be different from those on the ICE-powered Punch, according to the spy photos.

In contrast to earlier models, which had the same design as the ICE punch, the new electric Punch test mules will have a five-spoke shape. Rear disc brakes on the new test car have also been observed. The details of the Tata Punch EV are still unknown. Like the majority of Tata EVs, the Punch EV is anticipated to be offered in Standard and Long Range versions. We predict that the Standard variant of the Tigor EV will come with a 26kWh battery, and the Long Range model will use a 30.2kWh battery from the Nexon EV.

Tata Pucnh EV: Interiors

The Punch would have a revised two-spoke steering wheel, as seen inside. The new steering wheel design made its debut with the Curvv SUV Concept last year and is anticipated to be used in all upcoming Tata cars. In addition to the Punch, spy images of the Nexon also showed a two-spoke steering wheel. Because the infotainment system portion is hidden, we assume that it is the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is now in use. The Nexon EV Max’s rotary gear selector with a display, automatic parking brake, adjustable regenerative braking, wireless phone charging, and sunroof would also be included in the Punch EV.

It is anticipated that the Tata Punch EV will cost between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 16 lakh.

Tata Punch: EV powertrain

As we’ve previously reported, Tata Motors‘ Ziptron engine, which combines a liquid-cooled battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor driving the front wheels, is likely to be used in the Punch EV. The precise characteristics of the battery and electric motor are unknown at this time. To appeal to a wider audience, the manufacturer might also provide a variety of battery pack alternatives, as it already does for the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, and Nexon EV.
