Mahindra XUV700 EV (XUV.e8) got caught testing

An image of the Mahindra XUV.e8, the first vehicle to be released as part of Mahindra’s electric revolution, has been circulating online since it was recently sighted during open testing. According to the spy photos, the new XUV.e8 has undergone many revisions from the concept model Mahindra unveiled last year.

Even though the Mahindra XUV.e8 MotorBeam photographed was tightly camouflaged, some obvious aspects show the substantial changes Mahindra made for the commercial version. The Mahindra XUV.e8 production vehicle will have a more traditional design similar to the XUV700, as opposed to the concept car’s distinctive front fascia.

Mahindra thrilled us by unveiling its forthcoming EV line in India last August. By the end of next year, the XUV.e8, which is based on the Mahindra XUV700, will be the first to enter the nation. In advance of this, the automaker was observed testing the electric SUV prototype on Indian roads.

Highlights of the Mahindra XUV700 electric’s exterior

The all-electric XUV.e8 maintains the majority of the ICE XUV700’s design cues, as seen in the image. However, we anticipate that the production-ready model will have new alloy wheels, reworked LED headlights with distinctive LED DRLs, a modified front and back bumper, and other minor external changes.

Mahindra has opted for copper or bronze colours for its electric cars, in contrast to other automakers that employ blue colour accents to demonstrate the electric character of their EVs. Mahindra XUV400 was the vehicle that introduced the copper colour highlights, and as can be seen in the spy photos, the electrified Mahindra XUV700 now has an external finish that closely resembles copper. The interior of the alleged Mahindra XUV.e8 has not been shown in the stolen photos, although it is anticipated to resemble the XUV700’s interior.

Platform, battery size, and specifications for the Mahindra XUV700

The INGLO platform, which was created in collaboration with Volkswagen, will serve as the foundation for the Mahindra XUV700’s electric variant. In terms of size, the XUV.e8 will be larger than the ICE iteration at 4,740mmx1,900mmx1,760mm. The battery pack for the car will be between 60 and 80 kWh, and it will support fast charging at 175 kW. A WLTP-stated range of 400-450km is also anticipated on a full charge.
