The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has received seven proposals from private enterprises to set up 20 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations across the city for Rs 10 crore, which will help the city’s EV market. During a pre-bid meeting last month, 16 firms expressed interest in the project, with seven of them submitting bids.
Nashik Municipal Corporation officials stated that they are now reviewing these firms’ technical and financial offers. These 20 EV charging stations are planned to be operational within three months. The process of establishing an additional 80 stations will begin soon. The city intends to install 106 EV charging stations in phases over the next 12 to 18 months.
The locations provided by the Nashik Municipal Corporation for EV charging station setups are:
- Six divisional office buildings of NMC
- Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan near Tapovan bus depot
- Bytco Hospital on Nashik Road
- Satpur fire station
- Amrutdham fire station
- Raje Sambhaji stadium
- Krishinagar jogging track in Nashik West division
- Pramod Mahajan Garden in Nashik West
- Mahatmanagar Cricket Ground
- Phalke Smarak
- Ganeshwadi vegetable market building
- Behind B D Bhalekar School parking
- NMC open space at Lekhanagar
- NMC ground on Ambad Link Road
Nashik Municipal Corporation has set a target of 600 EV charging stations across the city in the next three years, with the civic body establishing 100 of them. Incentives for establishing these charging stations have also been announced by the Nashik Municipal Corporation. The municipal government has approved a 5% property tax reduction for residents of bungalows or buildings who install such EV charging stations.
Furthermore, the municipal government has made it essential to install a charging station in residential structures with more than 25 apartments. According to Nashik Municipal Corporation officials, their goal is to increase the sale of electric vehicles in the city by developing appropriate infrastructure.
