Both a single and a twin motor version of the Volvo C40 Recharge are offered; the former has rear-wheel drive while the latter has all-wheel drive. Volvo hasn’t said for sure yet whether both models would be offered in India. 

The 69kWh lithium-ion battery used in the single motor version generates 235bhp and 420Nm, with a top speed of 180kmph. The Volvo C40 Recharge’s single motor can reach 100 kmph in 7.4 seconds. Another option for the C40 Recharge single motor is a larger 82kWh battery with a 248bhp power. 

The dual-motor C40 Recharge, which is powered by an 82kWh battery pack, has 402bhp and a whopping 670Nm of torque. This all-wheel-drive version has a top speed of 180 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.7 seconds.

Range and Charging Time for the Volvo C40 Recharge

According to the WLTP cycle, it gives a range of up to 460km starting with the entry-level 69kWh battery pack. A 130kW DC charger can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in around 34 minutes. 

The 200kW DC charger may now be used to charge the 82 kWh version, which has a range of up to 515 kilometres. Based on this, it juices up in 28 minutes from 10 to 80 percent. 

The power output of the twin motors has been increased in the AWD version by Volvo. A 183kW (245bhp) e-motor powers the back axle, while a 117kW (157bhp) motor powers the front. The Twin Motor AWD can now travel up to 500 kilometres (km) on a single charge, an improvement of 62 km over the previous model. This is because of new battery cooling upgrades. It charges 150kW DC rapid charging from 10% to 80%.

Google services are pre-built inside the C40 Recharge. Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play are all readily available for your convenience. Additionally, it has an air purification system that may block up to 80% of dangerous PM 2.5 particles from entering the cabin. A 13-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system with a 600W digital amplifier and an air-ventilated subwoofer is included with the C40 Recharge. Additionally, it provides remote services through the Volvo Car app, allowing you to lock and unlock the vehicle as well as pre-clean the cabin and activate the heating or cooling system.

5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP for the Volvo C40 Recharge

In the 2022 Euro NCAP tests, the C40 Recharge received a five-star safety rating, making it one of the safest vehicles on the market. A 360-degree parking camera, cross-traffic alert, blind spot identification, lane-keeping assist, and emergency braking are additional safety features included with the EV.
