MG provides a 3.3kW onboard charger that charges the battery in seven hours. The Comet is powered by a single electric motor on the rear axle, which produces 42hp and 110Nm of torque. MG Motor India has disclosed the prices for the Comet EV’s three trim levels. The base Comet EV Pace costs Rs 7.98 lakh, the mid-spec Comet EV Play costs Rs 9.28 lakh, and the top-spec Comet EV Plush costs Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom).

2. Tata Tiago EV (8.69 lakh)

The second one on the list of cheap electric cars in India is the Tiago EV is one of the cheapest EVs available in India today, and it is Tata Motors’ third EV following the Nexon EV and Tigor EV. It comes with two battery pack options: a 19.2kWh unit with an MIDC range of 250km and a bigger 24kWh unit with an MIDC range of 315km.

It is powered by Tata’s ‘Ziptron’ high-voltage architecture and uses a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that produces 61hp with the smaller battery pack and 74hp with the larger unit, similar to the Nexon and Tigor EVs. The Tiago EV enables fast charging, with cheaper models supporting 3.3kW AC charging and larger variants supporting 7.2kW.

3. Mahindra XUV400 (15.99 lakh)

The XUV400 EV is distinguished by a blanked-off grille, projector headlights with LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, an integrated spoiler, redesigned LED tail lights, all four disc brakes, and copper-colored accents throughout.

An electric sunroof, BlueSense-linked car technology, drive modes, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six airbags, and a reverse parking camera with directions are included in the model’s interior. 4. Tata Nexon EV (16.49 lakh)

The Tata Nexon EV Max is offered in two variants: Nexon EV Max XZ+ and Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux, as well as two charger options: 3.3kW and 7.2kW fast charging. Customers can also choose the Dark Edition version of the model. The Tata Nexon EV costs between Rs. 16.49 Lakh and Rs. 19.54 Lakh, depending on the version.

The Tata Nexon EV Max comes standard with projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a thick single-slat grille, fog lights, light blue accents across the body, silver-colored skid plates, 16-inch alloy wheels, black ORVMs, EV badging at the front and rear, Nexon lettering on the boot lid, LED tail lights, and a dual-tone paint job.

5. Citroen C3 EV (11.50 lakh)

Finally, in the list of cheap electric cars in India, we have the Citroen C3 EV is an all-electric variant of the C3 cross hatchback. From the outside, the eC3 resembles its ICE predecessor, with the exception of the charging port located on the fender. A new drive state controller replaces the manual gear lever on the inside.
