MG Comet EV vs Tata Tiago EV: The EV battle is raging on!

MG Comet EV vs Tata Tiago EV is a hot topic and with the recent trolling done by both manufacturers to each other has added fuel to the fire. The long-awaited Comet EV’s prices have finally been revealed by MG Motor India. A starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh, ex-showroom, has been set for the brand-new MG Comet EV in India. It is now India’s most affordable electric vehicle and costs Rs 71,000 less than the Tiago EV. Here is a specification-based comparison of the new MG Comet and Tata Tiago EV.

With a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the new MG Comet is said to have a 230 km driving range on a single charge. On the other hand, there are two different battery pack choices for the Tata Tiago EV. It has 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery packs, which, according to claims, have a single-charge range of 250 km and 315 km, respectively.

The Tata Tiago EV is priced from Rs 8.69 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom, while the new MG Comet EV has a starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh. The Comet EV variant prices will be made public by MG Motor the following month. Beginning on May 15, orders for the same will be accepted, and by the end of the month, deliveries will start.

One electric motor is provided to both the MG Comet and the Tata Tiago EV. The Tiago EV produces 60 & 74 bhp depending on the variant, compared to the Comet’s 42 bhp. The Tiago EV can take up to 8.7 hours to fully charge compared to the Comet’s 7 hours. It’s important to note that while the Tiago EV can be charged using a DC fast charger in just 58 minutes, the MG Comet does not support DC fast charging.
