MG Comet EV launched in India at Rs 7.98 lakh: All You Need to Know

The MG Comet EV, the newest electric vehicle from Morris Garages India, was officially unveiled today in India for a price of Rs 7.98 lakh. After the ZS EV, the Coment is MG’s second electric vehicle in India. A revised version of the Wuling Air EV is the new MG Comet EV as Wuling is a sister company to MG.

The MG Comet EV is a boxy-looking compact car. The vehicle has two doors and can hold up to four people in its seating arrangement. It has a wheelbase length of 2010 mm and measures approximately 2974 mm in length, 1505 mm in width, and 1640 mm in height. It only has a 4.2-metre turning circle radius.

The 17.3 KWH li-ion battery in the car makes a 230 km range claim. The battery has reportedly passed 16 safety tests and has an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, according to MG. The electric motor in the MG Comet EV is rated at 42 ps and 110 Nm of torque. It comes with a digital key that up to two people can use together.

Its interior is dual-toned and has clever storage areas. In addition, it has features such as dual front airbags, ABS + EBD, a reverse parking camera, rear parking sensors, an LED rear fog lamp, follow-me-home headlamps, a tyre pressure monitoring system (indirect), front and rear seat belt reminders, driver and co-driver seat belts with load limiters, a manual parking brake, a manual day/night IRVM, a power adjust ORVM, a manual AC and heater, remote central locking, etc.

The car, which is marketed as a no-frills car, was said to have more than 55 intelligent features. Additionally, it has extended horizon front & rear connecting lights, an illuminated MGM logo, and steering-mounted audio controls. Four dual-tone colours are offered for the MG Comet EV. Additionally, the automaker offers a selection of graphics and sticker designs.
