In order to compete in the booming EV market in India, Fujiyama, an Indian EV brand, has introduced five new electric scooters. The electric vehicle startup claims to have the technology and design at its core and has released four low-speed and one high-speed electric scooter. The high-speed model is known as the Ozone+, and the low-speed models are known as Spectra Pro, Spectra, Vespar, and Thunder. Additionally, the company claims that the electric scooters have a real-world range of up to 140 km.
A 1.56kWh Li-ion battery pack is connected to a 250W BLDC motor on the low-speed electric scooter Fujiyama Spectra. The range of this engine is up to 90 kilometres. Similar features and range are offered by the Fujiyama Spectra Pro low-speed electric scooter, but it only has a 1.34kWh battery pack. Similar technology is available in the Fujiyama Vespar low-speed electric scooter, which features a retro-modern style. The same drivetrain is also installed in the Fujiyama Thunder low-speed electric scooter, but it has a more visually appealing body.
Each of these scooters has an easily removable battery pack that charges in 4 to 5 hours using a home charger. The electric scooters have LED lighting and an LCD display. Because they are low-speed electric scooters, buyers won’t need to register them or get a licence to drive them.
Fujiyama has also introduced the Ozone+ high-speed electric scooter in addition to these low-speed EVs.
This maintains the retro-inspired styling of the Fujiyama Vespar and combines it with a more potent 1.6kW motor. This motor produces 3.7kW of power at its peak when paired with a 60V/42AH (Li-ion) battery. Front and rear disc brakes are included with the EV. The high-speed Fujiyama Ozone+ electric scooter has LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, an LCD display, and other connected features.
Prices for the Fujiyama electric scooters range from Rs. 49,499 to Rs. 99,999. The business also has plans to introduce a new electric bike soon for Rs 99,999. In FY24, Fujiyama says it will have expanded to 500+ locations from its current network of 140+ dealerships. In order to increase production capacity to 60,00,000 units annually, the company also plans to build three new production facilities in the Indian states of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh in 2025.
