Mercedes- Benz has launched the EQB in India at Rs74.50 lakh(ex-showroom, India). The brand had formerly opened bookings for an electric luxury SUV and its ICE counterpart, the GLB, in early November at a token quantum of Rs1.5 lakh. The EQB, which is deposited below the EQC SUV and the lately launched EQS hydrofoil, is Mercedes ’ third EV in India.
Mercedes-Benz GLB
The GLB is a 7- seater SUV, offering two fresh individual seats in the third row. It’s frequently appertained to as the “ mini GLS ”, and is available in three variants with two machine options.
The GLB 220d variants are powered by a2.0- litre, 4- cylinder diesel machine that produces 188 BHP@,800 rpm and 400 Nm@, 600-,600 rpm. The GLB 200 comes with a1.3- litre petrol machine that puts out 161 BHP@,500 rpm and 250 Nm@,620-,000 rpm.
The petrol machine is offered with a 7- speed binary-clutch automatic transmission, while the diesel gets an 8- speed binary-clutch unit and voluntary each-wheel drive.
EQB 300 4Matic
The EQB is the each-electric interpretation of the GLB. It shares the same body shell but features a unique front fascia inspired by the brand’s EQ range of EVs.
The EQB 300 4Matic uses a binary-motor setup with a peak affair of 225 BHP and 390 Nm. Mercedes claims that the SUV can sprint from 0- 100 km/ h in 8 seconds and has a top speed of 160 km/h.
The EQB is powered by a 66.5 kWh battery pack offering a maximum range of 388- 423 km( WLTP cycle) on a single charge. The auto comes with an 11 kW AC bowl, but the battery can also be recharged from 10- 80 using a 100 kW DC presto- bowl in 32 twinkles.
Mercedes- Benz GLB comes with a starting price of ₹63.8 lakh. The price goes up to ₹69.8 lakh. The Mercedes- Benz EQB is priced at ₹74.5 lakh onwards for the EQB 300. All prices are ex-showroom India.
