As you may remember, BYD entered the Indian market in 2017 with the introduction of its electric buses. The E6 MPV followed in November 2021. BYD, which is now acknowledged as the largest EV manufacturer in the world, claims that around 1,500 reservations have been made for the new Atto 3 electric SUV. Its ex-showroom launch price is Rs 33.99 lakh. The E3 platform is where the Atto 3 is located. A permanent magnet synchronous motor is included with it. According to ARAI tests, the BYD-ATTO 3 has a range of 521 km, a greater battery capacity of 60.48kWh, quick charging from 0% to 80% in 50 min, and a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.3s.
With many of the country’s automakers making big plans to add even more electric vehicles to their lineups, India’s electric vehicle market is moving forward at full speed. Up till now, the Tata Nexon EV, Tigor EV, Tiago EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Kona Electric have been the segment’s main growth drivers. BYD, a Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles, intends to grow its business in India as it enters the mainstream EV market with the Atto 3 electric SUV.
The BYD-ATTO 3 is an extremely competitive EV option thanks to its sporty, potent exterior and rhythmic interior.
It also has the L2 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) BYD Dipilot, 7 airbags, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.8-inch (32.5cm) adaptive rotating Screen, 360° holographic transparent imaging system, NFC card key, and a Vehicle to Load (VTOL) mobile power station. In addition, the BYD-ATTO 3 offers features like wireless charging for smartphones, a one-touch electric tailgate, an 8-speaker audio system, electric seat adjustment, voice control, multi-color gradient ambient lighting that changes colours in time to the beat of the music, PM 2.5 air filter, CN95 air filter, etc. It received a 5-star safety certification from EURO NCAP.
There are four colour options for the BYD-ATTO 3: Boulder Grey, Parkour Red, Ski White, and Surf Blue. A 3kW portable charging box, a 7kW home charger, installation services, a 6-year roadside support contract, and six free maintenance visits are all included in the BYD-ATTO 3 package. In addition, BYD-ATTO 3 provides traction battery warranties of 8 years or 1.6 lakh kilometres (whichever comes first), motor and motor controller warranties of 8 years or 1.5 lakh kilometres (whichever comes first), and vehicle warranties of 6 years or 1.5 lakh kilometres.
